In this week's blog, we're going to go over some commonly asked questions of our Clear Jelly Stamper users and provide helpful feedback to make your stamping experience an enjoyable one.

Challenge: I can't seem to pick up fine images.
Helpful Hints
The plate hasn't been cleaned well enough with CjS plate cleaner so there might be leftover dried stamping polish in the image.
You're not rolling your stamper over the image quick enough after scraping the stamping polish off. Always be prepared ahead of time so that you're not scrambling to find things.
Make sure your
Clear Jelly Stamper is completely clean and free of dust and/or dried stamping polish.
If your stamping polish starts to get on the thick side, the image might not pick up. You can add some of our
polish thinner to thin it back out.
You DO NOT need to buff your stamper or wipe it with acetone. Both of these things will cloud your Original Clear Jelly Stamper and you will no longer be able to see through it.

Challenge: When I scrape the nail stamping polish over a larger image, the polish is removed from the middle of the image.
Helpful Hints
All of our plates are bowed slightly so it is important to hold the
layered stamping plate flat to the table before scraping.
Make sure to stamp on a hard surface. If you are stamping on a manicure pad, etc, you won't be able to push and hold the stamping plate completely flat.
Hold your scraper the long way and bend it slightly in the middle as you pull it across the image.

Challenge: My stamping polish seems too runny and it looks like it's separating.
That means you need to shake it up and get it mixed again.

Challenge: Sometimes it looks like parts of the image are missing when I pick it up with my
clear stamper.
When you are painting the nail stamping polish onto the image on the
layered stamping plate, paint it on in the opposite direction that you are going to scrape it off. This will help prevent any tiny air bubbles that might be there.

Challenge: When I scrape the stamping polish off the plate, there are big streaks left behind.
Helpful Hints:
Most of the time, the
CjS stamper will not pick up the streaks. If it does, you just might need to condition your scraper. The reason is they are machine cut so there are tiny shards of plastic on the edges that you can't see. Simply take a buffing block or a nail file and file all 4 edges. This should solve that problem.
This can also happen if your scraper has leftover dried stamping polish on it. Keep it clean.

Challenge: How do I keep my Original Clear Jelly Stamper clean and make it last?
The best way to keep your stamper clean and last as long as possible is to take good care of it. Always store it with the lid on. NEVER wipe the clear jelly head with anything. Using our
Sticky Pad to keep it clean is optimal. You "can" use a lint roller but it's not recommended because some of them are extremely sticky and that could cause your Clear Jelly Stamper to tear. It's very delicate!

Challenge: Sometimes when I apply my top coat, it seems to pull away from parts of the nail.
Helpful Hints:
If you are using our "Smear Not" top coat, you should be fine.
If you are using a gel top coat, it can pull away in certain areas. The reason this can happen, is because the
Clear Jelly Stamper leaves a residue on the nail. You can remove this residue by using a dry wipe and wiping the nail before applying your gel top coat. Don't worry! Your art is already dry so it won't smear!
